A SCHOOLBOY appeared in court yesterday charged with raping a girl aged seven — three days after his 11th birthday.

If he is convicted, the baby-faced lad will become Britain’s youngest rapist.

The trembling youngster, who was a primary school pupil at the time of the alleged attacks, appeared in court alongside his dad.

He is accused of raping his
friend’s younger sister at their home.

The boy is alleged to have boasted to two pals of twice raping the girl.

Manchester youth court heard he also told the pair that he made her perform a sex act on him.

It is claimed that he struck over the Christmas holiday season last year, with the first attack shortly after he turned 11.


The lad’s solicitor indicated a not guilty plea as the youngster, now 12, of Gorton, Manchester, spoke only to confirm his name and address.

The hearing was adjourned for a two-day trial in the New Year.

Britain’s youngest convicted rapist is currently a boy from Bolton, Greater Manchester, who attacked two girls a few months before his 12th birthday in 2012.

In May 2010, boys aged ten and 11 became Britain’s youngest sex offenders when convicted of trying to rape a girl of eight.
