(Avocados)

These fleshy fruits are packed with vitamin E, which ups your body’s hormone production and stimulates sexual responses in women.

Bananas are a classic health food, but the phallic fruits can also be great to get you in the mood.

It turns out they’re a great source of B vitamins, which make your body pump out sex hormones.

(Beetroot)

A surprisingly sexual food, beetroot was apparently the snack of choice for Aphrodite, the Greek goddess of love.

More recent research has shown beetroot can boost Nitric oxide levels in the blood, which will give you a serious stamina boost – no matter what you’re up to.

As well as being loaded with vitamin C, berries contain antioxidants, which promote healthy blood flow to the sex organs.

(Chocolate)

As well as being delicious, cocoa contains phenylethylamine, a feel good chemical that makes sex seem appealing.

Coupling chocolate with some chilli will provide a double boost, since the spicy peppers contain a chemical called Capsaicin, which improves blood flow and stimulates nerve endings.

(Oysters)

A classic sexual seafood, the oyster is rich in the mineral zinc, which is vital for the production of sex hormones.

(Celery)

A crunchy classic, celery contains all sorts of health benefits, as well as a bonus boost for any men who can bear to chomp their way through a stick before heading upstairs.

Celery contains androstenone, a woman-attracting pheromone which will improve your odds when you're on the pull.

(Nuts)

Getting your hands on some nuts is always a good idea when it comes to having a great time between the sheets.

Unsalted nuts provide all sorts of important nutrients, and almonds in particular are great for balancing your sex hormones.

Dr Marilyn Glenville, the UK’s leading Nutritonist, said: "If you don’t feel healthy, it’s extremely hard to feel sexy. So, as a first stop, make sure you eat a healthy diet. Good-quality unsaturated fats come from oily fish, eggs, nuts and seeds and take a good Omega 3 supplement.

"Fats are important for overcoming low libido because sex hormones (such as testosterone) are manufactured from the cholesterol contained within those foods. Also fats will also help to keep tissues like the vagina lubricated and soft."
