The terror group has released new images and also renamed itself -
"Islamic State in West Africa". According to BBC.
The group who declared allegiance to the world's richest terrorist Islamic State, widely known as
IS or ISIS in March, are rumoured to have abandoned the Boko Haram name.
This have formed opinions in the minds of many, that the militant sect might have shifted it focus of fighting against “Western Education", which its name; Boko Haram, represents or sects stand for.
The group which started in 2002, gained global attention after it started it offensive attack in 2009; killing innocent people , most especially in the Eastern part of the North in Nigeria. And attacking The Police Headquarter and United Nation building in Abuja.
The constant attack by Boko Haram is why many think the outgoing President of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan lost his reelection bid to Former Military leader, General Muhammadu Buhari; a man he defeated four years ago, and who have lost three presidential election.
